The Conjuring - Bluray Review

Halloween's almost here...well, technically in a couple of days but in the meantime, I'll be reviewing two Halloween-themed movies! Today is The Conjuring and on October 30th is Carrie (2013). About the other reviews, I apologize for not having them posted on the day it was supposed to be posted. I'll try posting them during November, since I also have another stack to review and that I have school that is being thrown into the mix. Again, if the reviews aren't posted as what's on the calender/list, I apologize in advance.
Now, onto the bluray review of The Conjuring! *cue in thunder and lighting SFX and bats*

The Conjuring is directed by James Wan and stars Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson (both as the Warrens), Lili Taylor, Ron Livingston, Mackenzie Foy, Joey King, Hayley McFarland, and Shanley Caswell.

James Wan is my all-time favorite horror director, besiding Guillermo del Toro. He directed the Saw films, Insidious, and currently directing the seventh film in the Fast & Furious franchise; and now has directed one of the Warren cases, The Conjuring. The film is certified fresh by Rotten Tomatoes and is positively received by critics and audiences worldwide, as well as horror lovers. The Conjuring isn't all filled with jump scares or graphic gore, like what others did to some horror films these days. James Wan has a unique style in horror films and so does Guillermo del Toro. They both have something special when directing the horror genre. Literally,  I could go on talking about this but to sum it all in short, James Wan is the best horror director and that The Conjuring is his finest work yet.

THE FILM:

The Conjuring is based on a true case from the Warrens, paranormal experts, about a family who moved inside a farmhouse and unsettling, potentially dangerous supernatural encounters the family--since moving into their new house. The family pleads the Warrens, as they accept the case and soon discover that other entities that haunted the farmhouse and aren't wanting to move on or leave.

Ender's Game - Bluray Review

Hello guys! So today, I'll be reviewing the Blu-Ray copy of Ender's Game, which is directed by Gavin Hood (cough cough...Gavin) and stars: Harrison Ford, Asa Butterfield, Hailee Steinfeld, Viola Davis, Abigail Breslin and Ben Kingsley. This is my first time reviewing a Blu-Ray on my blog and I must say that I was surprised to see Asa Butterfield and Ben Kingsley working again on their second feature together; their first feature was Hugo and I definitely loved the film.
Without further ado, let's get on with the review!

THE FILM:
I remember reading Ender's Game while the film was in post-production and oh boy! I had a good time reading; not because I like books, but because it was such an interesting read and quite an adventure! For the film, I could spot differences here and there, but I definitely enjoyed it as much as I did with the book.

Ender's Game is based off of the novel by Orson Scott Card and the whole movie is evolving around a young boy's POV, Ender Wiggin (Butterfield), who is reluctantly being pulled into battle school, that happens to be up in space and the reason for that is, Ender Wiggin isn't just a normal boy. He is intelligent/strategic and has a brilliant mind, who could possibly become the savior of humanity from these aliens called, Formics.

From there, he is separated from his family and embarks on a journey in learning off war games and proving what's he worth in an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race.
Butterfield and the rest of the cast did an outstanding job with the film; Gavin Hood brilliantly delivered Ender's world from page onto the big screen. Asa Butterfield exceeded my expectations when he played the role for Ender Wiggin. He brought Ender to life with confidence and courage as well as, giving somewhat, a light and dark side to the character's personality. With some astounding angles and shots and well-acted, the story has its ups and downs but overall, an enjoyable experience. The production design of Ender's Game is well put and immersive, and the visual/digital effects are beautifully and detailed. The film itself isn't boring, but rather entertaining and making the audience wanting to crave for more. Ender's Game has honestly hooked me from the book and now, the movie.

Blu-Ray/Movie Reviews of October List!!

Hello guys! As you know, I haven't posted much on my blog as well as, my YouTube channel. This is all due to the school work that is now, being assigned to students and of course, it definitely is taking up a lot of time! But that's totally fine.
Now that I got that out of the way, I've finally planned out what reviews I'll be doing throughout October! Here is my reviews of October list:

Transformers: Age of Extinction - Movie Review

Hello! Today, I'll be reviewing the film, Transformers: Age of Extinction! I'm really excited to watch this film, since I wasn't able to watch it in theaters and on Rotten Tomatoes, the film has been pretty much neglected at 18% (Rotten). But that won't stop me from watching it!

This is my first movie review on my blog, which was posted yesterday, and I cannot wait to do more in the future! But in the meantime, I'll be setting out a couple of things on here before reviewing it.
Transformers: Age of Extinction is the fourth movie in the Transformers franchise and apparently, it's a reboot! The story takes place, 5 years after the devastating Battle of Chicago (which happened in Transformers: Dark of the Moon) and humanity is apparently scared or frightened of the Autobots, calling them a threat. The story then evolves around an inventor, Cade Yeager (Wahlberg) when he buys an old truck and after examining it, he believes that it is a Transformer. The truck awakes and Cade finds out that the truck turns out to be Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots. And along the way, a bounty hunter arrives from a different world and is set upon a task to track down/target the Autobots and destroy them.

If you've seen all three movies, you would know what to expect in a Transformers movie. Explosions, More Explosions, Comedy and Booty Shots. I really get the sense of where Michael Bay wanted Age of Extinction's path to go to. And surely, it's on the right track! It felt as if the fourth film was darker and more serious, than the other three! Throughout the viewing, I never stood up and left or distracted myself with other things, I kept my eyes throughout the screen, whole. Though, the only problem I have with the film is the extensive usage of comedy, slow-motion and the first 15 minutes (approximately).
